Announcements
Thank-you Ann & John Karras for providing for today's coffee-time treats and picking-up the flowers.
Thank-you Laura Maynard for today's set-up/take-down.
Thank-you Maria Cheng for housing our guest Minister Nathan Woodliff-Stanley.
Our Annual Pledge Drive for 2009 is postponed for two weeks because of a more-than-ever-thorough budgeting process.
Again, a reminder that the amount to be pledged is for a 9 month fiscal year, not our normal 12 months. Fiscal year 2009
runs from April 1 through December 31. Then on January 1, 2010, we will begin a new full 12 month fiscal year which is
aligned with the regular calendar year. Many of you have asked for the rationale behind this Board decision. It is two-fold:
first, for the past 5 years, our fiscal year has been from April 1 through March 31, causing us to ask for your pledges during
February, an awful time for a fundraising campaign when everyone has just paid holiday bills and/or travel and is confronting
upcoming tax time.
Secondly, beginning this year, having our pledge drive before the end of the year [next year it will occur in October] allows us,
if we choose, to avail ourselves of the before-end-of-year tax deduction advantage. You will receive a pledge request in the
mail by December 5 and be called by one of the Board members incase you have any questions. We would like to have the pledges
cards in by December 13. What a time to be asking for financial support, huh, but forward and onward to new beginnings and
Growth & Change that We Can Believe In! [okay, okay, we stole that slogan from someone] Thank-you in advance for all your support
in maintaining the life of this Fellowship!
